Similar to B. grandis, but with smaller leaves on more upright stems and earlier pink flowers held above the foliage. A selection made from a collection in China, the leaves being particularly dark on their undersides. Best in a humus rich soil in full-part shade. Flowers are borne form July until the first frosts. Height 30 cm. (12").
