A hardy variety introduced from Sapporo, Japan by Michael Wickenden. Rich-coloured, tropical leaves, dark green and red underneath with deep pink flowers. The plants stems are attractive having red nodes that produce bulbils in the autumn. Comes into growth quite late in the season. Height 60 cm. Full to part shade in a sheltered position in moist, humus rich, well draining soil with a winter mulch.
