Description
A really interesting psittacina x purpurea hybrid with the most amazing curled lid, giving the impression of ‘eyse’ peering out from the pitcher. A slow grower but one of our favourites, always making us smile. Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1″) of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Keep well hydrated spring to autumn but keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy for long term plant health. Good flycatchers for a sunny window sill. Plants may be sent bare rooted.
