Description
This plant is blessed with lovely, deep red colouring. The elegant pitchers emerge green but darken to deep red as they mature. This striking plant will reach approximately 50cm in height. Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1″) of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Good as container plants – stand in rain water spring to autumn, keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy. Excellent plants for fly catching on a sunny window sill.
