Rehmannia elata

Description

An upright, clump-forming perennial reaching up to 1.5 metres in height, valued for its striking foliage and long-lasting display of flowers. It produces large, ovate leaves with deeply toothed edges, adding texture and interest even when not in bloom. From summer into autumn, the plant bears graceful, arching racemes of two-lipped, purplish-pink flowers, each reaching up to 10 cm long. These softly cascading blooms provide vibrant colour and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Ideal for mixed borders, wildlife gardens, or naturalistic planting schemes, it brings both height and movement to the garden as the flower spikes gently sway in the breeze.
