Primula ‘Pollyanna Yellow’

Primula ‘Pollyanna Yellow’ is a vibrant, early-flowering perennial that brings cheerful golden-yellow blooms to the spring garden. This compact polyanthus typically reaches heights of 10-15cm with a similar spread, making it ideal for containers, window boxes, and front-of-border planting. The fully double bright yellow flowers appear in profusion above rosettes of fresh green, textured foliage from late winter through to mid-spring.

Culturally, this primula thrives in partial shade to full sun in cooler climates, preferring moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. It requires consistent moisture, particularly during dry spells, but dislikes waterlogged conditions. Hardy to temperatures down to -15°C, it’s suitable for growing throughout the UK. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to encourage abundant flowering. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to prolong the flowering period. Divide congested clumps every 2-3 years after flowering to maintain vigour.
