Nephrolepis ‘Duffy’ is a compact and charming Boston fern cultivar renowned for its dense, fluffy appearance and manageable size. This delightful houseplant typically reaches heights of 30 to 45 centimetres with a similar spread, making it perfect for smaller spaces. The fronds are shorter and more densely packed than traditional Boston ferns, creating a wonderfully full, almost cushion-like effect that gives the plant its distinctive fluffy character.

As an indoor plant in the UK, ‘Duffy’ thrives in bright, indirect light away from direct sunlight which can scorch the delicate fronds. It prefers consistently moist, well-draining compost but should never be allowed to sit in waterlogged conditions. Regular misting helps maintain the humidity levels this fern craves, particularly during winter when central heating can dry the air. Feed monthly during the growing season with a diluted liquid fertiliser.
