Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘Golden Sprinklers’ (also known as ‘Filip’s Golden Sprinklers’) is a stunning evergreen conifer with distinctive pendulous branches and vibrant golden-yellow foliage that cascades gracefully like golden strings. This relatively new cultivar, bred in Germany in 2015, typically reaches approximately 3 metres in height with a spread of 1.5 metres after 10 years, forming an attractive pyramidal shape with its characteristically weeping habit.

Culturally, ‘Golden Sprinklers’ thrives in any fertile, well-drained soil and prefers a position in full sun to partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds. It’s fully hardy throughout the UK and requires minimal maintenance once established. Water regularly during the first growing season and during prolonged dry spells. Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring to maintain vigorous growth and enhance the golden colouration. This eye-catching conifer makes an excellent focal point in mixed borders or can be grown as a specimen tree in small to medium gardens.
