Description
Hoya curtisii
Hoya curtisii, commonly known as the Small Leaf Hoya or Fung Wax Flower, is a delightful trailing succulent vine native to Thailand and the Philippines. This compact species typically reaches lengths of 30-60cm when trailing, making it perfect for hanging baskets or as a cascading tabletop plant. The plant features small, thick, heart-shaped leaves with attractive silver variegation and prominent venation, creating a stunning silvery-green appearance.
Culturally, Hoya curtisii thrives in bright, indirect light and well-draining, chunky soil mix. It prefers temperatures between 18-26°C and moderate to high humidity levels (50-60%). Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, as the succulent leaves store water efficiently. During growing season, feed monthly with a diluted orchid or houseplant fertiliser. This Hoya produces clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers when mature. The plant is non-toxic and relatively low-maintenance, making it excellent for beginners seeking an attractive trailing houseplant.
