Pelargonium ‘Rushmoor Mekong’

Pelargonium ‘Rushmoor Mekong’

Pelargonium ‘Rushmoor Mekong’ is a Zonartic pelargonium, part of the group bred by Steve Pollard and introduced through Fibrex Nurseries. It typically reaches around 30–40cm in height with a similar spread, forming a bushy, well-branched habit clothed in rounded, finely toothed, mid-green leaves.

The flowers are semi-double to double, opening creamy white and yellow with delicate pink feathering on the upper petals, ageing gracefully to a softer white as the blooms mature. Held on sturdy, upright stems, they are produced freely over a long summer season, making this a striking and unusual variety for pot or container display.

Like other zonal pelargoniums, it is not frost-hardy and needs a bright, sheltered position in full sun with free-draining, moderately fertile compost. Water when the compost begins to dry and feed regularly through the growing season. Overwinter under glass in a cool, frost-free spot, keeping the compost almost dry until growth resumes in spring.
