Description
Smallish pitchers emerging pinkish red and darkening with age to a lovely bronzish-mahogany. Interesting beaked ‘Cobra-like’ hoods are an added attraction making this a charming variety. Wine red flowers borne in spring seal the deal. Height 30cm (12″). Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1″) of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Keep well hydrated spring to autumn but keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy for long term plant health. Good flycatchers for a sunny window sill. This plant is divided to order, the plant you receive will be a large division bare rooted.
