Description
A lovely herb, growing very vigorously, best grown in pots, although not quite as vigorous as Spearmint. The plant prefers partial shade, but can flourish in most conditions and is best suited to loamy soils with abundant organic material. Also known as scotch mint, this hardy perennial has very attractive green/gold variegated leaves and mauve flowers in summer. It grows to about 20″ (50cm). Good in salads, especially with tomatoes.
