The Royal Horticultural Society Shows

We have made a few forays into the RHS shows over the years, Chelsea, Hampton Court, Cardiff, Tatton Park and Vincent Square. All of which we have achieved the required standard to warrant a gold medal. We must thank all out amazing customers for their support and lovely comments over the years.

RHS Cardiff 2018

We were thrilled to be exhibiting at Cardiff in April of 2018. Ruth again played a huge part in the design and building of the display and we really went to town on it. I think we gathered half of the stumps in Llandysul to furnish it and raised it well above the permitted height (With permission of course!)

The spring had been hideously cold and things needed constant heat for the previous month to get them into flower and ready – timing is essential. The Primula sieboldii were looking superb and we had lots of unusual plants looking really nice. RHS cardiff 2018

I did manage to sneak my little old Jack Russel Terrier into the showground on the first day but we were rumbled on  the second. That and the thoroughly miserable weather took the edge off of the buildup.

However we finished in due time, swept the grass, removed every trace of imperfection and stood back admiring our work.

Judging day arrived and we were mortified to get a Silver Gilt…. only one point off of a gold. Still we really enjoyed the whole event and after 5 days in Cardiff we went back to our hilltop retreat.
