Like most gardeners, we will be glad to see the last of 2008, with its cold late spring, summer that never quite seemed to arrive and autumn that ended in the same vein. It is therefore with renewed vigor that we invite you to start 2009 with an air of optimism.

The Tyssul Hall, recently improved, is the ideal venue for our prestigious event. Why not come and join us for our annual winter gardening weekend. Unlike the cold wet weather outside this lovely heated venue defeats the elements in the heart of winter. Please make a special effort to support us, as you have so well over the last 8 years, on this our final show.

We thought long and hard after last years show, all of the previous events have been so well supported that it is very tempting to carry on year on year until the whole event gets a little tired and lack lustre. So it was with a heavy heart that we decided that this years event was to be the last, at least for the forseeable future.

This year is a special one for us as we want to go out with a 'bang' Our list of guest speakers is as impressive as always with some old friends and some welcome new additions. Graham Rankin from Aberglasney makes a return and we look forward to hearing Laura Davies from the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, who will be sharing insights into her latest seed-collecting trip in Tasmania. Talks will also include bee-keeping, vegetable growing, woodland shrubs and hellebores.

Tours of the hellebore growing beds and open garden are among the attractions at the nursery which is just up the road. Pay us a visit here to wander among thousands more plants including our treasured RHS gold medal winning hellebores.

Coach parties are, as always, welcome. Please let us know if you're coming 'en masse' so we can make sure that the tea and coffee - oh and the cakes - don't run out on that day!!! A shuttle bus from the Tyssul hall to the nursery can be provided if required.

For any other enquiries give us a call or drop us an email and we'll be happy to help -So why not make a note in your diaries.

Once again please help us to make this event a success.
