Does your garden look weary from September onwards, then maybe you should plan for the autumn with a little more care. There are a huge range of plants that can give your garden as much colour in the autumn as in the height of summer (well almost). With this aim in mind we set out to add to our range. The aim was to have one or more National Collections and among other possibilities we decided on Tricyrtis (toad lilies) and Schizostylis (kaffir lilies). We now have the collection of Tricyrtis and have applied for Schizostylis. At the present time we are still collecting and would be happy to include any varieties not mentioned on the relevant pages into our collections. Spikes of lily-like flowers are borne high above strap-like foliage for a long period almost into the winter months. They range in colour from pure white to deep scarlet red, and in flowering times from Aug-Nov, making them excellent garden plants.
The following varieties/species of schizostylis are available.
