Mail Order A mail order service is available in the U.K and europe and may soon be available to other parts of the world, if we can get round the red tape. Much thought has been given to this and we are not surprised that so few nurseries actually offer this service - it is a minefield! We wanted to send out large well grown plants to ensure that the customer has something worth planting, not, what can sometimes only be described as rooted cuttings. Having experienced the bad end of the mail order market and all the dissapointments associated with it we, didn't want to fall into this trap.
A flat rate charge of £10 is made for postage and packaging in mainland U.K. This is a standard charge irrespective of quantity. For european and non mainland U.K. special rates apply, please e-mail for details stating your location. Plants are sent in strong cardboard boxes and packed out with recycled material whenever possible. These are sent by carrier on either next day delivery (Apr-Sep) * or 3 day (Sep-Mar) * and we have found this service on the whole very successful. Ordering is easy, just print off our order form, fill in your requirements, add p&p and send via snail mail (sorry) with your cheque or card number. Orders are usually processed within 10 days. If a different delivery address is required please give enclose that too. Orders will not usually be confirmed unless requested. Payment at present is still by conventional cheque made payable to Farmyard Nurseries and it helps considerably if the cheque is left open (see below) in the event that any plants are unavailable. Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Electron, Visa Delta, Switch and Solo, either over the phone, by snail mail or fax. It would be appreciated if orders were listed on our Order Form and the following information is helpful - telephone number (please state day or evening), e-mail address, post code, and a list of suitable alternatives. large plants are expensive to post, so we had a dilema- small plants and
lower postal charges or larger plants with the extra associated costs. We
decided on the latter, in our opinion a price well worth paying.

you must do is to write either across the cheque or along the top the words
'Not to exceed £xxx' where the £xxx is the maximum amount that
your order will come to, including postage. You then make it payable to Farmyard
Nurseries and sign and date it. This cheque can then only be cashed for less
than its maximum value.
