HelleboreAll our saleable hellebore plants are between 1 and 3 years old and sold in either 2.5 or 4 litre pots. These are sold in flower in order to ensure that the colours and shape required closely match the customers requirements. Besides flower colour such things as height, flower shape, leaf shape and how the flower is held are equally important as well as varying degrees of shading, veining and contrasting eye colour. Plants may be purchased either by personal selection or by Mail Order during most of the season. However the more specific your colour requirement the harder it may be to meet your needs if the plants are not in flower(May-Dec). As mentioned above this genus is so varied that the choice is almost infinite, we currently are growing upwards of 10,000 hybrid plants in varying stages of growth, all of which are grown from hand pollinated seed and are different. These can broadly be divided into the following categories: Black, deep purple, purple, smoky purple, reddish purple, red, reddish pink, deep pink, pink, pink spotted, pale pink, pale pink spotted, apple blossom, pale pink deep eye, white, white spotted, white veined, cream, cream spotted, primrose, primrose spotted, apricot/peach, peach spotted, green, green spotted, slate grey. In addition to the above we have several experimental lines with contrasting coloured nectaries and veins as well as the above mentioned anemone flowered plants. Click here for a look at our new lines and double orientalis hybrids Species hellebore plants and argutifolius/lividus/niger crosses are also available but in much more limited numbers. These include odorus, purpurascens, multifidus, dumetorum, lividus, argutifolius, niger, foetidus and torquatus.
