The popularity of the species hellebores are limited to a few fellow enthusiasts, however they are a very interesting group of plants, possesing a charm of their own and should not be dismissed. Few are good general garden plants, the exceptions being H. x sternii, H. argutifolius and H. foetidus and their relevant cultivars. H. niger is very popular and freely available but is very site specific.
